FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – No. 1 Stanford placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay on the first day of Pac-12 Championships.
In the 800 free relay, Katie Drabot, Lauren Pitzer, Morgan Tankersley and Brooke Forde placed third behind USC (6:54.91) and Cal (6:56.68) with a time of 6:56.88.
Stanford's team of Alex Crisera, Allie Raab, Amalie Fackenthal and Anya Goeders finished third (3:31.58) in the 400 medley relay. Cal claimed first with a time of 3:27.26 followed by USC with a time of 3:30.73.
Stanford returns to action tomorrow for day two of Pac-12 Championships. Preliminaries for the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the finals starting at 6 p.m. tomorrow night.
