Scholars of Distinction

STANFORD, Calif. - Kelsey Bing and Isabelle Pilson were each named Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction Monday morning, two of 167 student-athletes recognized nationally. The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.

Bing will graduate with three Scholar of Distinction honors under her belt while Pilson has now been named a Scholar of Distinction twice. Stanford has featured eight student-athletes on the Scholar of Distinction list in program history.

A second-team All-American in 2019 and mechanical engineering major boasting a 3.94 GPA, Bing finished her career with Stanford as a three-time America East Goalkeeper of the Year and started all but one game in the cage as a senior. From Houston, Bing has excelled in the classroom since arriving to The Farm, named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad each year on campus.

Pilson, a sophomore who boasted over a 4.1 GPA in the fall quarter for the Cardinal, has started every game since appearing on campus and scored once and assisted on another goal in 2019 for three points.

Stanford captured the America East championship in 2019, winning an opening round contest in the NCAA Tournament.
