Men's Golf Year In Review

READ: Credit Hours by The Fried Egg

Still the champs. Despite the season being cut short due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Stanford Men's Golf is the last team in collegiate golf to win a national championship. And with the top-ranked recruiting class coming to The Farm for the 2020-21 season, mixed with loads of experience returning, the Cardinal looked primed to make a serious run at defending its crown next season.

Defending The Crown
As the defending national champions, Knowles Family Director of Men's Golf Conrad Ray put together one of the toughest schedules in golf for his squad in 2019-20. Despite losing key seniors Brandon Wu and Isaiah Salinda, the Card charged into the Nike Golf Collegiate Invite in September and came away with a Top-10 finish. Stanford finished sixth at The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invite in October before closing the fall at Cypress Point in a match-play format against some of the top programs nationally.

Youth really shined for the Cardinal in its four spring events. Stanford was twice led at events by sophomore Daulet Tuleubayev and once each by sophomore Ethan Ng and freshman Barclay Brown. A Cardinal finished in the top six individually in four of the team's six events, led by freshman Barclay Brown's second-place finish at the Cabo Collegiate.

Team Awards
Sophomore Ethan Ng was named Most Improved and Team MVP in 2019-20. Full team awards can be viewed HERE. Ng was also named All-Region, as he put together a scoring average of 71.61 in 18 rounds.
