Seventeen Named All-Academic

STANFORD, Calif. – Seventeen Stanford track and field athletes were named to the men's and women's All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday, and both teams received Team Academic Award recognition.

Nine Cardinal men were honored: Julian Body, Callum Bolger, Max McKhann, Clayton Mendez, Alex Ostberg, Alek Parsons, DJ Principe, Thomas Ratcliffe, and Michael Vernau.

Eight Cardinal women were honored: Christina Aragon, Ella Donaghu, Julia Heymach, Jessica Lawson, Erika Malaspina, Kaitlyn Merritt, Jordan Oakes, and Carolyn Wilson. 

Each met the standards of a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average, a top 96 mark in Division I in an individual championship event or top 48 in a relay, during the indoor season. 

The Stanford women earned a combined 3.58 GPA and the Cardinal men had a 3.41 GPA. 

Merritt, a 2019 All-American, earned her fourth USTFCCCA All-Academic honor. Fellow pole vaulter Erika Malaspina earned her third such. Each graduated this spring.
