STANFORD, Calif. – Five Stanford men's volleyball alumni are slated to continue their professional careers overseas this fall. Some will be in familiar places, while others are on the move. See below for a full update.
Kyle Dagostino • 2015-19 • Tampa, Fla.
- Signed with United Volleys in Frankfurt, Germany for 2020-21
- Completed his first professional season with ACH Volley in Ljubljana, Slovenia in the spring
- His professional accomplishments include winning the Slovenia Cup Championship and the MEVZA Cup Championship
- Was named the best libero for both championships
- Team also won the Slovenian league championship
Jordan Ewert • 2016-19 • Antioch, Calif.
- Signed with SVG Luneburg in Germany for the upcoming season
- Will compete against former teammate Kyle Dagostino
- Spent his first professional season with Ushaia Ibiza Voley in Spain
- Named player of the week three times, leading the league in scoring during those weeks
- Team was on a winning streak before the season was cut short, but believed they would challenge for the league championship
James Shaw • 2013-16 • Woodside, Calif.
- Signed with Gas Sales Blue Energy Piacenza in Italy
- Took part of last season off due to some injuries
- Has been training with the U.S. National Team (member since 2014) stateside since recovering
Erik Shoji • 2009-12 • Honolulu, Hawaii
- Will return to Fakel Norvy Urengoy in Russia
- Has been with the team since 2018
- 2019 FIVB Nations League - Best Libero
- Member of the U.S. National Team since 2013
Kawika Shoji • 2007-10 • Honolulu, Hawaii
- Returning to Italy for the 2020-21 season to play for Pallavolo Padova
- Spent the last two seasons in Poland with Asseco Resovia
- Since beginning his professional career, has played in Finland, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Poland and Italy
- Member of the U.S. National Team since 2011
