BERKELEY - Stanford and California squared off in a non-scoring meet on Saturday afternoon, competing in a series of races followed by several time trials.
Five of the Cardinal's six victories came from its freshmen, led by Luke Maurer's event titles in the 100-freestyle (43.60) and 200-freestyle (1:34.19).
Fellow newcomer Jonathan Affeld clocked in at 1:45.91, leading a Cardinal sweep in the 200-yard individual medley.
Preston Forst and Ethan Hu also recorded wins in their collegiate debuts. Forst touched the wall at 1:36.68 in the second 200 free while Hu won the 100-yard butterfly at 46.62.
Daniel Roy captured the 100-yard breaststroke title at 52.75, which ranks as the eighth-best time in school history.
