Three to Watch

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Stanford women's soccer players were named to the watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy - the highest honor in intercollegiate soccer. Landing on the watch list are seniors Madison Haley, Civana Kuhlmann and Kiki Pickett.

Stanford is one of five programs with three players on the preseason watch list, continuing a streak of six straight seasons with multiple student-athletes named to the watch list.

A Cardinal player has claimed the last three MAC Hermann trophies, with Andi Sullivan taking the award in 2017, followed by Catarina Macario becoming a back-to-back winner in 2018 and 2019. Current USWNT standout, Kelley O'Hara, became the first Stanford player to win the MAC Hermann Trophy at the conclusion of the 2009 season. O'Hara was followed by Christen Press (2010) and Teresa Noyola (2011) to bring Stanford's total to six winners.

Madison Haley
Haley earned second-team All-America honors in 2019, while also landing on the All-Pac-12 first team and on the United Soccer Coaches' All-West Region first team. She scored 36 points (11 goals, 14 assists) during the Cardinal's championship campaign and is Stanford's top returning point and goal scorer entering this spring.

The forward has scored five game-winning goals in her career -- the most iconic being a golden goal in extra time to defeat No. 2 North Carolina in 2018 (Sept. 9). With two national titles and three Pac-12 championships in her career, Haley returns to The Farm this spring after being drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Red Stars in this month's NWSL Draft. Thanks to an NCAA waiver Haley can complete her college eligibility before joining her professional club.

Civana Kuhlmann
Kuhlmann enters the spring season with 16 career goals and returns after missing the 2019 season with an injury. She finished eighth in the Pac-12 in points with 22 as a freshman in 2017 to land on the conference's all-freshmen team.

The forward has seven game-winning goals in her career, including the go-ahead goal in Stanford's quarterfinal victory over Tennessee in 2018. The redshirt junior has represented the United States on the U-14, -15, -17, -18 and -20 levels.

Kiki Pickett
Pickett, a native of Santa Barbara and communication major, is a former member of the USWNT U-20 team and has started all but two games in her career. Best known for scoring the game-winning penalty kick to net the Cardinal the 2019 College Cup title, Pickett has won two NCAA titles and three Pac-12 titles in her career.

A defender/midfielder who has spent most of her career on the backline, Pickett has four goals and 16 assists entering her senior season. Named to the College Cup all-tournament team during Stanford's 2019 title run, she was also named a third-team All-American, as well as first team all-conference and first-team all-region.

Pickett was drafted fourth overall by Kansas City NWSL in this month's NWSL Draft. Thanks to an NCAA waiver she can complete her college eligibility before joining her professional club.
