STANFORD, Calif. – Facing the Lopes for a second straight night, Stanford dropped a 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-19, Saturday, at Maples Pavilion.
Grand Canyon (4-5) hit over .500 in each of the three sets it one. Stanford (1-8) was held to a .183 attack percentage. The Lopes also put the pressure on the Card with their serves, totaling seven aces.
Sophomore Will Rottman led Stanford with 12 kills, two blocks and an ace, while freshman Kupono Browne had 11 kills, two blocks and an ace.

Sophomore setter Nathan Lietzke controlled the offense with 41 assists to go with five digs and a kill. Redshirt sophomore Justin Lui registered a match-high 10 digs.

Senior middle blocker Kyler Presho hit .467 with nine kills and four blocks. Freshman outside hitter Luke Turner tallied nine kills, three digs and two blocks. Redshirt freshman Ethan Hill started at middle and finished with three kills and three blocks in three sets played.
Grand Canyon had four players register double-digit kills, led by Christian Janke's 13 kills on .571 hitting and Camden Gianni's 13 kills on a .435 attack percentage.
Up next, Stanford plays host to No. 6 UCLA on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 2 p.m.
