SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Taylor Gindlesperger tripled twice to lead Stanford softball to a 4-1 victory over Utah, Sunday at Dumke Family Stadium. The win gave the Cardinal (22-4, 3-0 Pac-12) a 4-0 weekend sweep, and 3-0 Pac-12 series sweep – the first three-game sweep over a conference opponent since April 26-28, 2013, coincidentally against Utah.

Stanford has won its last 10 games.

Gindlesperger tripled in the first and fifth innings to bat in a pair of runs on the day. Teaghan Cowles opened the game with a single to third – extending her hitting and on-base streaks to 14 and 18 games, respectively – and scored off the former's triple into right field.

A sacrifice fly from Emily Young sent Gindlesperger home to give Stanford a 2-0 lead over the Utes (11-13, 0-6 Pac-12).

Utah responded in the bottom of the second with a solo home run, but starting pitcher Alana Vawter wouldn't allow a run the remainder of the day. The sophomore improved to 13-1 on the season with a six-strikeout, four-hit outing over 7.0 innings. A Cardinal pitcher went the distance in all four games this weekend.

Montana Dixon, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday, doubled twice.

Stanford will return home and host Arizona, April 1-3, at Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium.
