STANFORD, Calif. – Hosting California from Burnham Pavilion on Sunday, Stanford recorded a season-best 412.500 to top Cal at 386.100.
Stanford posted team bests on floor (69.250), still rings (68.700) and parallel bars (70.150) en route to the victory.
Competing in his first collegiate all-around, Colt Walker scored an 80.650 to win the all-around competition. The native of Austin, Texas managed a 13.950 on floor, 11.900 on pommel horse, 13.400 on rings, 14.100 on parallel bars and a 12.750 on horizontal bar.
Blake Wilson won the floor event with a career-best 14.600 as the Cardinal took the top three spots in the event. Sophomore Brandon Briones (14.300) and Walker finished second and third, respectively.
Junior Brody Malone hit for a career-high 14.500 on pommel horse to capture the event title. Fellow junior Ian Gunther followed in second at 13.750, while Matthew Szot secured fourth with a career-best score of 13.350.
Gunther and Malone shared the event title on still rings, with each registering a 14.100. Trevor DiGerolamo (13.800), Walker and Szot (13.300) followed for the Cardinal as Stanford nabbed the top five spots in the event.
One of the top vault teams in the nation, Stanford put up a 72.900, highlighted by Briones' career-high tying 14.800 to win the event. Curran Phillips took third with a mark of 14.600, while Walker followed in fourth.
Winning his third event of the day, Malone registered a 14.450 on parallel bars to guide Stanford to each of the top four spots in the event. Gunther took second with a career-best tying 14.300, followed by Walker and Phillips (14.100).
Finishing the meet on horizontal bar, Phillips turned in a stuck 13.350 to capture top honors. Brandon Nguyen placed third with a score of 13.100, while Briones (13.000) and Walker finished fourth and fifth, overall.
Stanford will now prepare to visit No. 1 Oklahoma on March 13 at 1 p.m. PT.
