Four Tabbed All-Region

STANFORD, Calif. – Led by senior Ali Baiocco's first-team nod, four Stanford women's lacrosse players were selected to the West/Midwest all-region teams, the IWLCA announced today.

Sixth-year Genesis Lucero and fifth-year seniors Kyra Pelton and Mikaela Watson were all named to the West/Midwest Second Team. Stanford now has 44 all-region selections all-time.

Baiocco led the Pac-12 and is second in the nation with 6.25 points per game. The Harding, New Jersey, native also led the league and ranks 12th nationally with 4.17 goals per game and was third in the conference with 2.08 assists per game. She had four game-winning goals on the season and twice scored eight goals in a game in 2021 – a school record. A two-time Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week in 2021, Baiocco was a top-25 candidate for the Tewaaraton Award. She ranks second in program history in points (238) and goals (167), and third in career assists (71).

Lucero earns her first career all-region accolades. The midfielder led the Pac-12 and is second nationally with 10.08 draw controls per game. She set the single season school record for draw controls in the Pac-12 Tournament final against Colorado (May 8), and finished the year with 121. The Encinitas native won her first career Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor in March and ranked fourth in the conference with 1.25 caused turnovers per game. She finishes her time on The Farm as the school's career leader with 372 draw controls.

Pelton picks up her first career all-region honors. The Cardinal's defensive leader, she was seventh in the Pac-12 with 3.73 draw controls per game. The Redwood City native was second on the team with 41 draw controls on the season and registered 21 ground balls and had eight caused turnovers.

Watson also collects her first career all-region recognition. The Philadelphia native was sixth in the Pac-12 with a .525 shot percentage. The midfielder led the team with 27 ground balls and had 12 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers on the season. She tallied 21 goals and 10 assists on the year and was named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list.

Stanford finished the 2021 season with the best win percentage in program history (.916), captured both the Pac-12 regular season and tournament titles and made its 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
