Honda Award Finalist

STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Corinne Zanolli has been named one of four finalists from the sport of field hockey for the Honda Sport Award, announced Tuesday

The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 45 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA- sanctioned sports and signifies "the best of the best in collegiate athletics".  The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2021 Honda Cup which will be presented on a telecast on CBS Sports Network, on June 28th, at 9 pm ET.

The field hockey finalists were selected by a panel of coaches and experts from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The Honda Sport award winner for Field Hockey will be announced next week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has a vote.

Zanolli cemeted herself as the top player in program history, owning 94 goals and 26 assists for a total of 214 points in 78 games played with the Cardinal. Named the America East Offensive Player of the Year three times, Zanolli is a shoe in to become the first four-time NFHCA first-team All-Region honoree in program history, with All-America hopes in sight for the third time. Her 94 goals are the most in program history and rank 16th in NCAA history, the most for any player's career since 2017. Zanolli's mark of 1.21 goals scored per game sits 11th in NCAA history, as she led the Cardinal to three America East championships, including a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals this spring.

Known for her performance in the clutch, Zanolli boasts a whopping 25 game-winning goals, with 11 career hat tricks. A nine-time America East Offensive Player of the Week, Zanolli also played a part in leading the team off the field, as the Cardinal ranked second among all programs in the nation with a 3.83 cumulative GPA. She is a four-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad, while earning All-Academic status from the America East three times.
