COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming Stanford men's basketball freshman Harrison Ingram has been selected to attend the 2021 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Cup team training camp, as announced by USA Basketball on Thursday.
Ingram joins the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball Jerod Haase at the camp, as Haase was announced in May as an assistant coach for the United States' team that will travel to Latvia for the FIBA U19 World Cup. The Dallas, Texas native is one of 27 athletes set to attend with hopes of being named to the final squad. A roster of 12 players will represent USA Basketball at the tournament.
Ingram gives Stanford a five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American for the second-consecutive season, joining the Cardinal as the consensus No. 16 recruit, though he is ranked as high as 12th in the country by Rivals, and the top-ranked signee from the state of Texas. He has previously participated in other junior national team events for USA Basketball.
He became the ninth recruit in program history to earn a spot on the McDonald's All-American game roster, while the Cardinal has a participant for the second-straight year - the first time in program history to accomplish the feat in back-to-back years. Ingram joined Ziaire Williams (2020), Reid Travis (2014), Brook and Robin Lopez (2006), Josh Childress (2001), Casey Jacobsen (1999) and Jarron and Jason Collins (1997) as Stanford athletes with the honor.
The 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup runs from July 3-11 in Riga and Daugavpils, Latvia.
