Men’s Rowing Lands Four All-America Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Four Stanford men's rowers have earned All-America recognition, as announced Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA). Peter Chatain and Trey Holterman were named to the first team while Flynn Traeger and James Wright garnered second team distinction.

Chatain, who was also named the Pac-12 Athlete of the Year and a first team all-conference selection, earns his first career All-America accolade with the first team honor. The junior rowed in the six seat at both the IRA and Pac-12 Championships, helping Stanford's varsity eight take fifth nationally and third in conference play.

Holterman and Traeger tallied their first awards on the Farm with the first and second team nods, respectively. Holterman rowed in the seven seat at the IRA and Pac-12 Championships, while Traeger stroked the Stanford boat in both races.

Wright joined Traeger on the second team after rowing in the five seat at the championship regattas. The honor is the first All-America award for Wright, who was the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year in 2019.

All four recipients were also named IRCA National Scholar Athletes on June 28.
