1st at Captain Hurst, 4th at Women’s ACC

STANFORD, Calif. – Taking the water for three regattas, Stanford sailing returned home with a first-place result at the Captain Hurst Bowl, a fourth-place finish at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship and a 12th-place tally at the Nevins Trophy.
 
The Cardinal won the Captain Hurst Bowl, hosted by Dartmouth on Lake Mascoma, with a 25-point cushion over second-place Tufts. Jack Parkin and Sammy Pickell finished with the top mark in Division A, totaling 57 points with three wins and 11 top fives over 14 races, while Wiley Rogers and AnaClare Sole controlled the B-Division for 52 points, 29 better than the second-place teams. Like their teammates, Rogers and Sole won three races with 11 top fives.
 
Stephanie Houck and Gwendolyn Donahue sailed in Division C, combining for 86 points and the sixth-best finish in the flight. The pair ended with two wins and seven top fives.
 
On the Charles River in Cambridge, Stanford finished fourth at the Atlantic Coast Championships in a field of 18 schools. Michelle Lahrkamp and Patricia Gerli were fifth in the A-Division with 125 points, winning two races and posting 10 top fives, while Berta Puig and Abigail Tindall were third-best in Division B, winning the final race while tallying eight top fives. Grace Austin also saw action for the Cardinal.
 
In Kings Point, New York for the third regatta, Stanford took 12th at the Nevins Trophy. John Kirkpatrick and Laurel Foster were 16th in Division A, and Justin Lim and Mathew Hogan placed fourth in Division B.
 
The Cardinal returns to action at the Coed Atlantic Coast Championship this weekend, Oct. 23-24, hosted by St. Mary's.
