OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Thomas Booker was named one of 10 finalists for the 2021 Senior CLASS Award® on Thursday. Booker, who is the only finalist from the Pac-12 Conference, is also a finalist for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy.
Booker is a double major in communication and economics and owns a 3.89 GPA. He is a two-time team captain and Stanford's nominee for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy. Last season, Booker was named a CoSIDA first team Academic All-American, in addition to earning All-Pac-12 first team honors on special teams and second team honors on defense. So far this season, Booker has 42 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, a blocked kick and four QB hurries.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I FBS senior or graduate student and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. The complete list of candidates follows this release.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The finalists were chosen by a selection committee from the list of 30 candidates announced earlier in the season. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner, and fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through December 20th. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner.
The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during football bowl season in late December.
