All-Region Honors

STANFORD, Calif. - Ousseni Bouda and Zach Ryan each earned another award as the pair of forwards were recognized on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams. Bouda earned first team honors while Ryan secured a spot on the second team.

This marked the second award for Bouda this postseason, following his selection to the Pac-12 All-Conference first team last month. The Burkina Faso native has already collected a number of awards in his career despite missing the 2020 season due to injury.

This season alone, Bouda earned recognition as Pac-12 Player of the Week twice (Sept. 13 and Oct. 4), Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week (Oct. 5), and College Soccer News National Team of the Week (Sept. 7).

The Junior forward led the Cardinal in assists with nine, good for ninth in the NCAA and first in the Pac-12. His five goals on the season were tied for the team lead with Ryan, and his 17 points also led the team.

Bouda's most points in a game came against California in early October, when he tallied two goals and two assists.

Zach Ryan adds to a long list of awards with this most recent selection. Last month, Ryan was named to both the Pac-12 All-Conference first team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.

Stanford's leading goal scorer each of the last three seasons, reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year and first-team All-American in the spring Zach Ryan led all Cardinal with 31 career strikes, ranking 9th in program history, including 10 last season (ranking sixth nationally). Ryan has been named Pac-12 All-Conference four times in his career, and his 75 points rank eighth in program history.

Ryan's 31 goals have him positioned third all-time in the Pac-12 career record book, as well as in a tie for fifth all-time in points. Ryan's five goals this season were tied for the team lead and his 15 points were second behind Bouda.

Ryan's most goals during a game this season came against San Diego State at home where the senior striker recorded a brace to help the Cardinal to a 4-0 scoreline.
