CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Redshirt junior Real Woods repeated as the 141-pound champion at the Southern Scuffle, presented by Compound Sportswear, Sunday, at McKenzie Arena.
Woods, who won the championship in 2020, defeated No. 15 Allan Hart of Missouri, 4-0 in the finals. He becomes the first two-time Southern Scuffle champion in program history.
Ranked No. 7 nationally, Woods improves to 8-0 on the season and 33-4 in his Cardinal career. He advanced to the finals with a 5-4 decision over No. 8 Andrew Alirez of Northern Colorado.
Redshirt junior Tyler Eischens also placed for the Cardinal, finishing eighth at 174 pounds. He earned a 6-3 decision over Buffalo's Jay Nivison to secure a spot in the top 8. Eischens medically forfeited his final match.
As a team, Stanford finished with 47.5 points, 10th overall. The Cardinal returns to The Farm next week, hosting California Baptist on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion.
