Winter Season On Deck

STANFORD, Calif. - The winter season is set to begin with Stanford hosting Harvard on January 17 in the Avery Aquatic Center. The Cardinal will also host Arizona and Arizona State during January.

Stanford will compete in one away meet against USC on February 5 before returning to host California on February 19. Following the regular season finale against California, Stanford will take aim at the NCAA championships starting March 23.

The Cardinal will look to build on an impressive fall season that saw 41 NCAA B standard times, including four NCAA A standard times. Andrei Minakov burst on to the Stanford swim and dive scene in a big way, setting a new school record in the 100 free with a 41.69. The sensational freshman also nabbed a stellar mark in the 100 fly, recording an NCAA A standard time of 44.78, the second-fastest time in Stanford history.

Daniel Roy continued his dominance in the breaststroke during the fall, securing an NCAA A standard time in the 200 breast with a 1:52.54. The fifth-year senior swam the second-fastest time in school history only behind his own record mark he set last season.

The fourth NCAA A standard time of the fall came from Andrei Minakov, Luke Maurer, Jonathan Affeld, and Leon MacAlister in the 400 free relay. the four swimmers combined for a time of 2:49.09.

Stanford will be in the Avery Aquatic Center on January 17 against Harvard.
