Nine Athletes Inked

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford will have nine new faces on the team to begin the 2022 season. Fletcher Bank (Bakersfield, Calif.), Palmer Bank (Bakersfield, Calif.), Zach Bohane (Monte Sereno, Calif.), William Cleary (Windsor, Conn.), Liam Doyle (Tokyo), Dylan Hooper (Shawnee, Kan.), Takashi Sasaki (Issaquah, Wash.), Rowan Schnebly (Portland, Ore.) and Alfonso Tenconi (Slough, England) will join the ranks next season.

"The class stays true to the values that we believe makes incredible student-athletes, incredible soccer players, and incredible young men. The group displays quality as soccer players, coupled with the drive to compete day-to-day with an expectation of continuous growth. They will complement the returning group, and hopefully lead to building a very competitive squad this fall, and for the years to come."

Fletcher Bank - Bakersfield, Calif. - Garces Memorial High SchoolQuick Profile: Competed for Garces Memorial High School and was a three-time captain (2019-2021) … Was top ten in the nation in assists with 27, averaging 1.8 assists per game … Led team to the 2019 CIF SoCal Regional title, 2020 CIF SoCal Regional final, and the 2021 CIF SoCal Regional semifinal …  2019, 2020, and 2021 CIF Central Section Champions …  2019 and 2020 Southwest Yosemite League Champions… Named to the 2020 Southwest Yosemite League first team … 2020 & 2021 Kern County Area first-team … 2019 Southwest Yosemite League second team … 2019 Kern County Area Honorable Mention. 

Also played for five years with the Cal South ODP Program, winning the ODP Far West Region IV Championship in 2019 and 2020, and serving as the team captain in 2019.

Off The Pitch: Parents are Baynes and Natalie Bank … has three siblings: Cambria, Bella, and twin brother Palmer … Is interested in studying biomedical computation and pursuing a career as a physician or surgeon … enjoys his church youth group, playing golf, and guitar.

Palmer Bank - Bakersfield, Calif. - Garces Memorial High SchoolQuick Profile: Competed for Garces Memorial High School along with brother Fletcher … served as a three-time captain (2019-2021) and led the team to three Southwest Yosemite League titles … Won the 2018 CIF State Championship … Also won three CIF Valley titles … Took home first-team All-League and first-team All-Area three times (2019-2021) … Was named Goalkeeper of the Year in 2020 … Also competed in varsity golf, varsity tennis, varsity football, and varsity cross country.

Also played for DMS 11, Ventura County Fusion USL2 Academy (2018-2020), and Albion Central Cal (2021), winning the Coast Soccer League Cup in 2019 while being named a Premier Finalist in 2019, and a Best of the Best Finalist in 2018 and 2021.

Won the Far West Regional ODP Championship three times (2017, 2019, 2020).

Zach Bohane - Monte Sereno, Calif. - Los Gatos High School Quick Profile: Competes for De Anza Force (2012 - present) … Featured in the Mediterranean International Cup in 2018 and advanced to the round of 16 among clubs such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Espanyol, Besiktas, Manchester City, and Porto … Competed in the round of 32 at the MLS Next U17 Playoffs in 2021 … Won the Surf Cup in 2016 and 2017 … Trained and competed against UE Cornella, Cordoba Cf, and La Masia 03s and Cordoba 03s.

Jeremy Gunn on Bohane: "Zack Is a free flowing skillful midfielder. He effortlessly covers ground floating between defending, distributing, and attacking as a midfield player."

Off The Pitch: Parents are Jonathan and Leticia Bohane … Has two brothers, Noah and Jake … His brother Noah plays college soccer for Saint Mary's College … Interested in studying Economics and pursuing a career in business … Enjoys snowboarding and golf in his free time.

William Cleary - Windsor, Conn. - The Loomis Chaffee School Quick Profile: Competed for The Loomis Chaffee School, captaining the team in 2020 and 2021 and winning the NEPL East Division Championship in 2021 … Named to the New England Soccer Journal Best XI in 2021 … Named Top Drawer Soccer's Impact Players Northeast Class of 2022 Midfielder … Named New England Soccer Journal Underclassmen Prep Boys Best XI … Earned the Loomis Chaffee Physical Education Award (2020-2021).

Also spent three months training with the TOVO Academy in Barcelona, Spain.

Liam Doyle - Tokyo - Northwood SchoolQuick Profile: Competed for the Northwood School and served as team captain during the 2021-2022 season … Was named a 2021 High School All-American … Named All-Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament Champion and MVP while competing for the South Island School … Also played rugby for the Hong Kong Rugby National Team at the U-14 level.

Also played for the Hong Kong Football Club First Team (2018-2020) and Black Rock FC (2020-2022) … Recorded 12 goals in 12 games in the USL Academy League.
