STANFORD, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford wrapped up play at the Stanford Invitational with a 19-4 victory over No. 18 San Diego State on Sunday morning at Avery Aquatic Center.
Aria Fischer and Makenzie Fischer both scored five goals while Ryann Neushul dished out four assists as Stanford (7-1) received at least one goal from nine different players.
The Cardinal converted 25 shot attempts into 19 goals for a 76.0 percentage and was also 6-of-10 on power plays.
Stanford led wire-to-wire, built a commanding 11-3 halftime lead and limited San Diego State (0-1) to only four goals on 26 shots.
Lexi Rowell scored the first of her three goals with 32 seconds remaining in the first period, giving the Cardinal a 5-0 advantage before the Aztecs finally got on the board.
All five of Aria Fischer's goals came in the first half, with her fifth score making it 10-2 Stanford at the 3:20 mark of the second period.
Chloe Harbilas became the ninth Cardinal player to score, firing home a goal with 2:01 remaining.
In addition to Neushul's game-high four assists, Hannah Constandse and Jewel Roemer contributed three assists.
Maya Avital anchored the Cardinal in goal, making 11 saves.
Stanford returns to action on Feb. 25-27 with an appearance at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational in Irvine, California.
