STANFORD, Calif. - Five Cardinal are headed to Detroit for the NCAA Championships, held March 17-19 at Little Caesars Arena.

Two-time Pac-12 champion Real Woods is the highest-seeded Cardinal, earning the No. 4 seed in the 141-pound bracket. The redshirt junior is 14-1 on the season and opens the tournament against No. 29 seed Connor McGonagle of Lehigh (11-9).

Defending NCAA champion Shane Griffith (15-4) is the No. 5 seed at 165 pounds. The redshirt junior will face No. 28 seed Cael Carlson of Minnesota (17-14) in the first round.

Returning All-American Jaden Abas received the No. 23 seed at 149 pounds and will begin the tournament against No. 10 seed Ridge Lovett of Nebraska (20-3). 

Pac-12 champion Tyler Eischens (19-10) received the No. 26 seed at 174 pounds. The redshirt junior will be making his first NCAA appearance and will take on No. 7 seed Ethan Smith of Ohio State (205).

Also making his first NCAA postseason appearance is redshirt sophomore Logan Ashton (7-5). The Buford, Georgia native is the No. 33 seed at 125 pounds and will wrestle in a pigtail match against No. 32 seed Patrick McCormick of Virginia (14-11).

Stanford has qualified at least five wrestlers to the NCAA championships in each of the past nine seasons.
