The Cardinal walked away with two wins and two losses after a weekend of action in Los Angeles, March 5-6. Stanford topped No. 11 Cal Poly and No. 14 Long Beach State while down in southern California and fell just shy of upsetting No. 7 GCU.

Stanford opened its 2022 season in Honolulu, Hawai’i, walking away with a 2-2 record after four matches on Queen’s Beach. After opening its season at the Duke Kahanamoku Classic in four of the last five seasons, the Cardinal marked its first ever program wins at the tournament with a 5-0 sweep of Saint Mary’s and a 4-1 topping of No. 10 Hawai'i.
The Cardinal opened the 2022 season with its highest preseason ranking in program history, earning No. 7 rankings from both the AVCA and CBVB poll.
Stanford finished the 2021 season at 23-13, setting a program record for most wins in a season and qualifying for the NCAA Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. for the first time in program history.
The Cardinal also made a splash in the Pac-12 Conference during 2021, qualifying for the final day of the conference championships for the first time in program history.
