Runner-Up Finish

DETROIT - Redshirt junior Shane Griffith finished as the runner-up at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships, Saturday, at Little Caesars Arena.

The No. 5 seed in the tournament, Griffith dropped a 6-5 decision to No. 2 seed Keegan O'Toole of Missouri in the finals. The Westwood, New Jersey, native is now 9-1 all-time at the NCAA Championships.

Griffith became just the second two-time NCAA finalist in school history and the program's sixth multiple-time NCAA All-American. He finishes the season at 19-5 overall and is 59-6 in his career.

As a team, Stanford finished 19th with a 31.5 points. It's the eighth top-20 finish in program history.
