STANFORD, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford built an early lead and maintained control throughout in a 13-6 victory over No. 14 Indiana on Sunday morning at Avery Aquatic Center.
Stanford (18-2, 4-1 MPSF) won its fourth straight game and completed a sweep of conference opponents in less than 24 hours, following up on Saturday's 15-5 win at San Jose State.
The Cardinal's big three of Aria Fischer, Makenzie Fischer and Ryann Neushul ignited the offense early and often against Indiana (14-13, 1-4 MPSF), which was navigating its own back-to-back after playing two matches yesterday.
Aria Fischer finished with game-high totals in goals (5), assists (3) and shots (8), Makenzie Fischer contributed four goals, three assists and a game-best seven attempts while Neushul added three goals off five shots.
Sophie Wallace accounted for the only other goal, which staked the Cardinal to a commanding 7-2 lead after the first period.
Stanford continued to apply the pressure in the second period, with Aria Fischer's fourth goal making it a 10-4 lead at halftime.
The Cardinal was held scoreless over the final 13 minutes of the game but the defense did the rest.
Maya Avital finished with eight saves, playing the entire game in goal.
Stanford closes out its regular season on Saturday, April 16, hosting California at noon on Senior Day.
