  • The Cardinal hit the courts after an incredibly successful last eight duals. In the span of 6 days, the team competed eight times, won seven of the matches, and saw both junior Maddi Kriz and senior Charlie Ekstrom go 8-0 throughout the week (7-0 as a pair).
  • Kriz and Ekstrom were named Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week for their efforts. The duo was the only pair to beat No. 1 UCLA (and earn a point) in any position last week and earned straight-set wins in four of their seven victories.
  • Saturday saw the Cardinal open its morning with a matchup against the Oregon Ducks, shutting out its conference foe to mark its third consecutive sweep win. The afternoon saw Stanford meet No. 1 UCLA for the second time this season. Even with a straight-set win on court two and pushing courts three, four, and five to three-set matches, the Cardinal saw the same result as its season opener, falling 4-1 to the Bruins.
  • Sunday's play included the Cardinal winning all but one point throughout the day and saw dominant play on courts one and two from pairs senior Charlie Ekstrom and sophomore Kate Reilly, junior Maddi Kriz and sophomore Emmy Sharp, sophomore Xolani Hodel and Reilly, and Ekstrom and Kriz. The duos on courts one and two both won all of their points with straight-set decisions.
