STANFORD, Calif. - Jewel Roemer's four goals paced an efficient offensive attack as No. 1 Stanford coasted past No. 17 Loyola Marymount 21-9 on Sunday afternoon at Avery Aquatic Center.

Bouncing back from its second loss of the season yesterday, Stanford (15-2, 2-1 MPSF) was crisp throughout, scoring 21 goals off 29 shots. The Cardinal finished 5-6 on power play chances and converted all six of its penalty shots.

Roemer turned all four of her attempts into goals while also contributing an assist. Aria Fischer, who fired off a game-high six shots, and Ryann Neushul, who tallied three attempts, also finished with hat tricks. Makenzie Fischer and Sam Sternfels each chipped in with two assists.

Stanford received at least one goal from 12 different players, including Shaye Story, who found the cage in the final minute to become the 20th Cardinal player to score this season.

Leading 4-2 after the first period, Stanford scored three unanswered goals, taking a 7-2 lead with 5:12 before halftime thanks to a goal from Aria Fischer.

The Cardinal put the game out of reach in the third period, scoring four goals in the first four minutes to lead 13-5 following a Makenzie Fischer score at the 4:15 mark.

Christina Hicks' goal with 6:16 remaining gave Stanford its first double-digit lead.

Alissa Pascual found the net with 56 seconds left in regulation, helping Stanford reach the 20-goal mark for the sixth time this season.

Stanford returns to action on Wednesday, April 6, hosting Santa Clara at 5 p.m. in a match that will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
