Fourth at Coed Team Nationals

NEW ORLEANS - Stanford finished the first of three nationals opportunities over an eight day stretch in fourth place, just outside of a podium spot in the coed team national championships. The Cardinal finished with a record of 16/9 over the three day event.

Stanford raced well in Louisiana, qualifying for both the top eight and the top four rounds. After the initial round, the Cardinal held a 12/3 record, good for third overall.

Despite dropping four of seven in the second round, Stanford made it to the final four round along with Yale, Georgetown, and Roger Williams. Stanford ultimately finished in a tie with Georgetown on the overall record, but dropped two of three contests against the Hoyas, giving them the tiebreaker.

Stanford lined up with six sailors in the three day competition including Jack Parkin, Wiley Rogers, and Michelle Lahrkamp filling the skipper roles. Sammy Pickell, AnaClare Sole, and Patricia Gerli fulfilled the crew duties.

The Cardinal will be back in action in the fleet race national championships starting tomorrow in New Orleans.
