Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. - Freshman Braden Montgomery has been tabbed a Freshman All-American according to Collegiate Baseball, it was announced on Wednesday.

Montgomery, the 2022 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, was selected as a two-way player while pitching and playing right field for the Cardinal.

Montgomery has batted .301 with 46 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples, 16 homers and 51 RBIs. The 16 home runs are a program record for a freshman. The native of Madison, Miss. hits cleanup in Stanford's order.

On the mound, Montgomery has made 15 appearances (three starts) while compiling 28 strikeouts and two saves over 18 2/3 innings.

A semifinalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year, Montgomery was also named All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
