CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 4 Stanford opened its season with two dominating wins at the Bruno Classic at Harvard. The Cardinal started the day with a 27-6 victory over Wagner before a 19-6 win over the host and 16th-ranked Crimson.
The two wins are the first in the Brian Flacks era at Stanford and the 27 goals scored against the Seahawks are the most in any game for Stanford since 2015 (29-9 vs. MIT).

The Cardinal jumped ahead early in its first game of the season, scoring the first 10 goals before Wagner dented the back of the net. Eight of those first 10 goals were scored by different players, as Stanford moved the ball around and found success up and down its lineup.
Nine goals were scored by players seeing their first collegiate action, led by redshirt freshman Jack Martin with four. True freshman Chase McFarland tallied three, while CJ Indart and Grant Watson each had one.

It was more of the same for Stanford against Harvard, as the Cardinal rushed out to a 4-0 lead and a 6-1 advantage after the first quarter. Six of the first seven goals were scored by different players as Stanford maintained a 10-4 lead at the break.
Where the offense slowed down just a touch in the third period, the defense held strong, feature several impressive field blocks and saves from Krutonog, allowing the Cardinal lead to increase. Martin again led the scoring effort with three goals, along with a hat trick from Quinn Woodhead.
