Preseason Poll Released

SAN FRANCISCO – Stanford was picked to finish fifth while Utah was picked to win the 2023 Pac-12 women's gymnastics conference crown in a preseason poll of league coaches, it was announced Thursday.
 
Utah received 49 points and seven first place votes, with UCLA garnering 41 points. Cal collected 40 points and one first place vote, followed by Oregon State with 32. Stanford collected 25 points, followed by Washington with 15 points, Arizona State with 12, and Arizona rounding out the standings with 10. 

The Pac-12 starts out the 2023 season with all eight conference team ranked in the top-25 of the WCGA poll, released Friday. Utah was picked to finish third, followed by Cal placing eighth, UCLA earning 10th, Oregon State capturing 14th, Stanford collecting 17th, and Washington, Arizona State, and Arizona finishing 21st, 24th, and 25th, respectively.

The Cardinal, under sixth year head coach Tabitha Yim, kicks off the season at the inaugural Super 16 Meet presented by Ozone at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Jan. 6. 
 
Stanford is led by seniors Jade Chrobok, Addie Stonecipher and Chloe Widner, as well as returning fifth-year Madison Brunette and sophomore Brenna Neault. The Cardinal's 2023 freshman class steps on the collegiate stage as the top-ranked recruiting class in the NCAA.
