STANFORD, Calif. - Quinn Woodhead and Jackson Painter were both named All-Americans by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).'
Stanford has garnered multiple All-Americans every season since 1975.
Woodhead was picked for the first team, while Painter earned a second-team nod after the duo helped lead Stanford to a 22-5 record and a runner-up finish at the MPSF Tournament. The Cardinal's 22 wins were its most since 2015.
Now a four-time All-American, Woodhead earns first-team honors for the first time in his career, leading the Cardinal both in and out of the pool all fall. He ranked second on the team with 45 goals, playing all 27 games. His 15 multi-goal performances also rank second on the team. A force on both ends of the pool, his 15 field blocks officially recorded were the most in the MPSF. He finishes his career with 139 total goals.
Painter's honor is the first All-America nod of his career after a dominating junior season. He led both Stanford and the entire MPSF with 67 goals, including 18 multi-goal performances. His previous season-high for goals was 16. His 99 points were the best in the league as he also added 32 recorded assists. His season-high of five goals came four different times, while he scored in 25 of Stanford's 27 games.
