TEMPE, Ariz. - Down .125 heading into the final rotation of the evening, No. 19 Stanford women's gymnastics recorded a season-best beam total to top No. 20 Arizona State in Tempe 196.225-196.050.

With the victory, the Cardinal earned its first dual-meet win over the Sun Devils since 2017 and moved to 5-0 on the season. Freshman Anna Roberts won her first all-around title of her young collegiate career, alongside her third vault title of the season (in so many meets) and a share of the floor title. Senior Chloe Widner earned the night's only score of 9.90 for either team in the anchor spot on the beam, bringing home the event's title and the meet win for the Cardinal.

Stanford started its time in Tempe on bars, scoring a season-high team score of 49.075 on the event. Redshirt sophomore Ira Alexeeva once again stepped up with a hit routine after a fall, recording a team-best individual score of 9.850. Senior Chloe Widner and freshman Anna Roberts each added scores of 9.825, while fifth-year Madison Brunette and freshman Claire Dean rounded out the team's scoring routines with marks of 9.800 and 9.775, respectively.  The Cardinal led the Sun Devils by a score of 49.075 to 48.875 after the first rotation.

Needing a huge performance on beam, Stanford saved its best routines for last and recorded a season-best team event score of 49.250 on beam. The Cardinal outscored the Sun Devils on the event by .225, led by Widner's 9.90 and a collegiate-best score from Dean of 9.875. Stanford also saw a career-best matching effort from Alexeeva and a season-best performance from junior Bela Onyshko, both earning scores of 9.85. Roberts rounded out the Cardinal's scoring efforts with a 9.775.

Stanford now returns to the Bay Area for its next meet, traveling an hour northeast to No. 6 California for the annual Big Meet Jan. 28. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
