BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – No. 24 Stanford went 10-for-10 to shut out CSU Bakersfield, 43-0, Friday, at the Icardo Center.
Stanford improved to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12, while CSU Bakersfield now stands at 1-9, 0-4 Pac-12. Five of the Cardinal wins came with bonus points, including two falls and two forfeits. Stanford shut out an opponent for the first time since 2020.
Senior Jackson DiSario and junior Nick Stemmet, who are both ranked No. 28 nationally, registered falls at 133 and 197 pounds, respectively. DiSario's came in the second period and was his first of the season, moving him to 15-8 overall and 6-4 in duals. Stemmet finished off Mateo Morales in 1:17 - his fastest fall of the season. He is now 18-5 overall and 8-2 in duals.
Collecting a combined 12 team points were No. 3 Shane Griffith and freshman Brook Byers, who received forfeits at 165 and 184 pounds, respectively. Griffith leads the team with 20 wins, while Byers is now 12-6.
Jason Miranda also earned bonus points with a dominating 9-0 decision over Angelo Martinoni at 141 pounds. The junior improves to 13-7 overall and 5-4 in duals.
Freshman Nico Provo opened the dual with a 9-5 decision over Richard Castro-Sandoval at 125 pounds. Ranked No. 28, Provo is now 16-6 on the season and 4-4 in duals.
Ranked No. 11 at 149 pounds, redshirt junior Jaden Abas tallied a 9-3 decision over Josh Brown, improving to 19-4 overall and 6-2 in duals. No. 26 Charlie Darracott earned a 7-4 decision against Brock Rogers and 157 pounds to move to 18-8, 3-3.
No. 27 Tyler Eischens posted a 6-1 decision over Albert Urias at 174 pounds. The fifth-year senior is now 19-5 overall and 8-2 in duals. Heavyweight Peter Ming won his third straight match with a 6-0 decision over Jake Andrews. Ming stands at 13-9 overall, including 5-2 in duals.
