Two in the Top Three

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Stanford recorded two podium finishes on the first day of the Diving Zones E competition. Jack Ryan took first overall while Peyton Donald added a bronze medal on the 1-meter.

Thanks to their top performances on the 1-meter today, Ryan and Donald both automatically qualify to compete at the NCAA Championships later this month.

Ryan's 1-meter win marks his second Zones' title after claiming the gold on the 3-meter a year ago. His score of 772.20 was 20 points more than the second-place finisher, Shangfei Wang from USC.

Peyton Donald's bronze medal marks the first postseason podium finish of the freshman's career, scoring a 738.10 in the process.

Ryan and Donald were the top finishers in the preliminary round, as Stanford's sophomore diver took the top spot with a 394.05. Donald held second after prelims with a 378.30.

Hunter Hollenbeck also competed on the 1-meter, finishing 22nd overall with a score of 250.45.

The Cardinal divers will compete tomorrow, Tuesday March 7 on the 3-meter.
