NCAA Brackets Unveiled

STANFORD, Calif. - Six Cardinal are headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the NCAA Championships, held March 16-18 at the BOK Center.

Pac-12 champion Daniel Cardenas is the highest-seeded Cardinal, earning the No. 6 seed in the 157-pound bracket. The true freshman is 22-1 on the season and opens the tournament against No. 27 seed Cesar Alvan of Columbia (19-7).

Shane Griffith (23-3), the 2021 NCAA champion,  is the No. 9 seed at 165 pounds. The redshirt senior will face No. 24 seed Rodrick Mosley of Garnder-Webb (27-5) in the first round.

Jaden Abas (22-5), a 2021 All-American, received the No. 10 seed at 149 pounds and will begin the tournament against No. 23 seed Chance Lamer of Michigan (12-7). 

Tyler Eischens (21-8), a 2022 Pac-12 champion, received the No. 27 seed at 174 pounds. The redshirt senior is a three-time NCAA qualifier and will take on No. 6 seed Ethan Smith of Ohio State (19-6).

Junior Nick Stemmet (20-9), who made his first NCAA Championships appearance in 2021, is the No. 27 seed at 197 pounds and will wrestle Isaac Trumble of NCA State (19-4) in the first round.

True freshman Nico Provo (20-9) earned the No. 29 seed and will face No. 4 seed Matt Ramos of Purdue in his debut at the championships.

Stanford has qualified at least five wrestlers to the NCAA championships for 10 consecutive seasons - the longest such streak in program history.
