STANFORD, Calif. - No. 13 Stanford made it a dozen straight wins on Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 25 San Diego 6-1 for its third top-25 victory of the season. The Cardinal is now 15-2 overall and 7-0 in the Pac-12.
Stanford won its fourth straight doubles point, featuring a win from No. 25 Angelica Blake and Alexis Blokhina at the top spot and a clincher from Connie Ma and Valencia Xu on court three, eeking out a 7-5 win to secure the point.
In singles, No. 12 Ma raced to the finish line, dropping just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 win on court two. No. 40 Blake wasn't far behind on court three, a 6-2, 6-2 winner.
The match win was clinched on court one by No. 20 Alexandra Yepifanova, defeating No. 96 Solymar Colling 6-4, 6-3. Blokhina and Xu each earned ranked wins of their own, Blokhina a 6-3, 7-5 winner on four and Xu earning the same score on five. Sara Choy battled till retirement on six for USD's lone point of the day.
