Singles and Doubles Selections

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford will send three players to the NCAA Singles Championship, along with one doubles team, set to take place following the team tournament in Orlando, Fla. later this month. Sophomores Connie Ma and Alexandra Yepifanova will make a return showing to the singles draw, while senior Angelica Blake makes her first appearance in the tournament. Blake and freshman Alexis Blokhina will represent the Cardinal in doubles.

Stanford's three selections in singles are its most since Michaela Gordon, Emily Arbuthnott and Melissa Lord competed in 2019. Stanford has sent at least three players into the singles tournament 33 times in the 41 years of the event. Blake competed in last year's doubles draw with Connie Ma as Stanford has sent at least one doubles duo to the tournament in 23 straight seasons.

Ma is currently ranked 18th nationally, boasting an overall record of 30-6 in singles this season, including a 15-4 mark in dual matches. The reining ITA National Rookie of the Year after advancing to last spring's NCAA Singles title match, Ma has gone 6-3 at No. 1 singles this season as well as 9-0 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 3.

Yepifanova checks in right behind Ma at No. 24 in the nation with a 32-5 overall record in singles and an impressive 19-1 mark in dual matches. She's blistered through the spring competition, going 9-0 at the No. 1 spot, 5-1 at No. 2 and 6-0 at No. 3.

Blake has had a standout season as a senior, enjoying the highest ranking of her career at No. 43. Overall, she's gone 30-6 in singles and 17-2 in dual matches, including a 1-2 record at No. 1, 3-0 at No. 2, 13-0 at No. 3 and 1-0 at No. 4. Blake enters postseason play on a nine-match win streak, while Yepifanova has won her last 16 singles matches.

Stanford boasts 14 NCAA singles championships in program history, won by nine different players, with eight NCAA doubles championships, won by eight different pairs. Stanford last won the singles championship in 2013 (Nicole Gibbs) and doubles in 2012 (Mallory Burdette/Nicole Gibbs).
