VIENNA - Rising senior Cameron Brink earned a gold medal with the USA 3x3 team over the weekend, winning the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Vienna, Austria. Brink was named MVP of the tournament.
The gold medal is Brink's third with USA Basketball, also earning the top of the podium at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup. With the finish, USA earned a berth into the second FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be held in 2024, prior to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
For the week, she averaged 4.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over eight contests while continually making her presence felt on both sides of the ball. USA went 7-1 in the tournament, losing their first game to Canada in pool play, but winning seven straight on the way to gold, defeating Hungary, Mongolia, Czech Republic, Japan, Austria, China and France in the championship.
