Card Essentials: Udodi Onwuzurike

Welcome back to Card Essentials, where Stanford student-athletes share the stories behind the items they carry with them every day, big or small. In today's edition, we caught up with Stanford sprinter Udodi Onwuzurike. A sophomore from Michigan, Onwuzurike is heading to Nationals and took some time to share his everyday essentials with us.

GoStanford.com: "So you have an iPad and laptop. Which do you use more?"
Udodi Onwuzurike: "I definitely use my iPad more. I don't have any textbooks, and I usually take notes in class on my iPad. I also use it to take photos and videos during lectures so I can look back at them."

GS: "Let's talk about your headphones, why are those essential to you?"
UO: "I love music. I probably use these the most. I wear them to class, I wear them to practice, I even wear them in practice sometimes. My headphones are definitely something I use every single day."

GS: "Do you have any stickers that are special to you?"
UO: "The Manchester City one for sure. I'm a big soccer fan, they are my favorite club. I've been a fan since I was probably seven or eight. I hope to go ther one day."

GS: "Do you always keep a Bible in your backpack?"
UO: "I am really big on my Faith. I pray every morning and night, and it's really important to me to always have my Bible with me."

GS: "These spikes look pretty fresh. Are these a new pair?"
UO: "Spikes are probably my most important item. I wear them every day in practice. They are what helps me run my fastest times. I just got this pair about a week and a half go, they are my first white pair."
