Azja Czajkowski Named CRCA Athlete of the Year

STANFORD, Calif. – Azja Czajkowski, one of the Cardinal's most decorated rowers in program history, was named the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division I Athlete of the Year, the organization announced on Thursday.

In its second year, the Athlete of the Year award provides a unique opportunity for the CRCA to acknowledge and recognize the individual efforts, impactful actions, and remarkable outcomes achieved over the academic year—a span during which these student-athletes have undeniably left a positive impact on their respective teams.

Czajkowski was a key member of the Cardinal's varsity eight and helped Stanford capture its second consecutive Pac-12 Conference title and first national championship victory since 2009. She is Stanford's lone two-time winner of the women's rowing Pac-12 Athlete of the Year honor and earned back-to-back Pocock First Team All-America honors for her efforts in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

This summer, Azja was named an alternate to represent the United States at the 2023 World Rowing Championships, the regatta that will decide what countries will compete in the 2024 Olympics.
