STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford graduate student Hannah Jump is one of 20 players on the watch list for the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday. The annual award in its seventh year recognizes the top shooting guard in women's college basketball.
The selection committee is composed of top women's college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers. By late January, the watch list of 20 players will be narrowed to 10. In late February, five finalists will be presented to Meyers Drysdale and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist at www.hoophallawards.com.
Jump was an All-Pac-12 pick a season ago, one in which she broke Stanford's single-season record for 3-point makes (100), ranked ninth nationally in 3-point field goals and eighth in 3-point percentage (44.1). Back for her fifth season on The Farm, the graduate student was one of only two players in 2022-23 to average better than 44.0 percent from deep while making at least 100 3-pointers (Kate Mager – Iona) and just the ninth major conference player to do that since 1999-2000. Jump heads into this season fourth among active players in career 3-point percentage (.421).
Jump and the Cardinal begin their regular season at home on Wednesday, Nov. 8 against Hawai'i (7 p.m.). Season tickets, mini plans, group tickets, and single game seats are now on sale by visiting tickets.gostanford.com or calling 800-STANFORD.
In addition to its television broadcast schedule, every Cardinal game this upcoming season will again be carried via GoStanford.com's audio stream with Kevin Danna and Tim Swartz splitting play-by-play duties.
