EUGENE, Ore. – In a battle of top 10 teams, No. 3 Stanford defeated No. 8 Oregon, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, Sunday, at Matthew Knight Arena.
Stanford (17-2, 10-0 Pac-12) snapped a three-match skid against the Ducks (17-4, 7-3 Pac-12) and pushed its Pac-12 win streak to 28 matches. The Cardinal has won 11 straight overall and moves to 11-0 on the road this season.
Opposite Kendall Kipp registered a match-high 17 kills to go with eight digs, five blocks and an ace. Outside hitter Elia Rubin added 15 kills on .394 hitting, five digs and three aces.
Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 46 assists and had 14 digs and an ace. Libero Elena Oglivie collected a team-high 15 digs and tallied four assists.
As a team, Stanford hit .281 and posted 54 digs, 7.5 blocks and eight aces. Oregon hit .239 as a team and totaled 57 digs, 8.0 blocks and eight aces.
Outside hitter Caitie Baird turned in 13 kills, nine digs, two blocks and three aces. Middle blocker McKenna Vicini finished with four kills and four blocks, while Sami Francis had three blocks and a pair of kills.
Oregon was led by middle blocker Kara McGhee's 15 kills on .542 hitting and five blocks. Outside hitter Mimi Colyer chipped in with 14 kills, eight digs and three aces.
Stanford remains on the road next week, traveling to Arizona on Friday at No. 17 Arizona State on Sunday.
