Preseason AP All-American

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Cameron Brink was named to The Associated Press preseason women's basketball All-America team released Tuesday.

The two-time reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, Brink is coming off a junior season in which she finished second nationally with a school-record 118 blocks and was third in the country in blocks per game (3.47). The 2023 WBCA Defensive Player of the Year was also one of just two players to average at least 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game last season and recorded the program's first triple-double with blocks when she had 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 rejections in a win over Oregon on Jan. 29.

The nation's leading active shot blocker with 297 in her career, Brink will enter her senior season looking to become the 17th Division I player with 400 career rejections. Oregon State's Ruth Hamblin (2013-16) owns the Pac-12 record with 425 career blocks.

Brink was a second-team AP All-American as a junior and on the third team as a sophomore and with another nod this season, would become the fifth Stanford women's basketball player to earn three first-, second-, or third-team AP All-America honors along with Chiney Ogwumike (2012, 2013, 2014), Nneka Ogwumike (2010, 2011, 2012), Candice Wiggins (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) and Nicole Powell (2002, 2003, 2004).

The Associated Press' 2023-24 preseason All-America women's basketball team was compiled with votes from a 36-member national media panel. The AP started choosing a preseason All-America team before the 1994-95 season.

Brink and the Cardinal begin their regular season at home on Wednesday, Nov. 8 against Hawai'i (7 p.m.). Season tickets, mini plans, group tickets, and single game seats are now on sale by visiting tickets.gostanford.com or calling 800-STANFORD.
