Cardinal Battles to Scoreless Draw

STANFORD, Calif. – Opening a crucial week in Pac-12 play on Thursday, No. 4 Stanford (14-0-3, 7-0-2 Pac-12) battled to a scoreless draw at No. 23 USC (9-3-3, 5-1-3 Pac-12).

Senior goalkeeper Ryan Campbell made five saves in goal for the Cardinal, recording her seventh shutout of the season. Her save in the 63rd minute following a Trojan corner kick preserved the point for the Cardinal.

The Cardinal was not credited with a shot on frame against USC goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson, totaling seven shots overall in the match.

USC outshot Stanford 16-7 in the match, with Simone Jackson putting three of her four shots on frame for the Trojans.

The Cardinal will now prepare to clash with No. 2 UCLA on Sunday at 12 p.m. The Cardinal currently sits in second place behind the Bruins in the Pac-12 standings.
