Stanford Outlasts UCLA

LOS ANGELES – Four Cardinal registered double-digit kills to lead No. 2 Stanford past UCLA, 23-25, 25-11, 25-23, 27-29, 15-7, Friday, at Pauley Pavilion.

The win clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 title for the Cardinal (23-3, 16-1 Pac-12) – the 21st in program history.

As a team, Stanford hit .340 and finished with 68 kills, 53 digs, 11 aces and 11.5 blocks. UCLA (16-11, 8-9 Pac-12), which fought off four match points to force a fifth set, hit .221 and totaled 54 kills, 53 digs, eight aces and 11.0 blocks.
 


Opposite Kendall Kipp tied her season-high with 21 kills on .409 hitting to lead the Cardinal. The fifth-year also had six digs, five blocks and an ace. Outside hitter Elia Rubin, from nearby Santa Monica, tallied 18 kills on a .350 attack percentage, five digs, three blocks and two aces.
 


Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 55 assists and collected 10 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. The junior also notched a career-high six aces, including three in the decisive fifth set.
 


Libero Elena Oglivie turned in her fifth 20-plus dig performance of the season, including three of her last four outings, finishing with a match-high 22 to go with an ace and three assists.
 


Middle blocker McKenna Vicini was a force all night, posting a career-high 12 kills on .556 hitting and a team-best six blocks. Outside hitter Caitie Baird also recorded 12 kills and had seven digs, two blocks and an ace, while middle blocker Sami Francis chipped in with four kills and three blocks.

UCLA was led by opposite Iman Ndiaye's 16 kills and 12 digs, while Grayce Olson added 12 kills on .320 hitting and four blocks. Stanford, which has won four straight over the Bruins, is now 57-39 all-time against UCLA.
