United Soccer Coaches All-Americans Opens in a new window

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophomores Jasmine Aikey and Elise Evans have been named 2023 NCAA Division I Women's All-Americans, it was announced by the organization on Friday.

Aikey earned her spot on the first team, while Evans landed on the third team.

Aikey was named Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and earned All-Pac-12 first team honors this season. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. has scored in nine of 23 matches this year, and after scoring in the final two last year, has scored in 11 of her last 25. Aikey has contributed a point in 16 of the 23 matches this season, and has scored in five of the last 14 entering the College Cup. Aikey ranks first in the Pac-12 in assists (10) and points (32), second in goals (11) and game-winning goals (4), and fourth in goals per game (.48). Highlighting her season, Aikey recorded a hat trick in a 4-0 victory over California on November 3 to conclude the regular season – the third multi-goal game of her career. For her efforts, Aikey was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.

Evans, a two-time All-Pac-12 honoree, has started all 23 matches for the Cardinal at center back this season, playing 2,012 minutes and helping Stanford post a 0.43 goals against average while limiting opponents to just 8.90 total shots per game. On the attack, Evans has contributed two goals – including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over No. 18 Mississippi State in the third round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The All-America honors come on the heels of being named to the All-Region first team alongside senior Ryan Campbell and fifth-year player Maya Doms. Stanford matched a national-high with the four players on the All-Pacific Region first team, and with Kennedy Wesley earning a spot on the third team, the Cardinal tied for the most All-Region selections in the nation with five.

Among the 46 women's soccer players receiving All-American recognition, nine student-athletes are earning the second All-America honors of their careers: Notre Dame senior defender Eva Gaetino, UCLA junior defender Lilly Reale, Brigham Young senior forward Brecken Mozingo, Saint Louis senior defender Lyndsey Heckel, Florida State junior midfielder Taylor Huff, Florida State senior forward Jody Brown, University of Texas junior forward Trinity Byars, Florida State senior goalkeeper Cristina Roque, and Harvard junior defender Jade Rose.

Georgetown GR-5 defender Julia Leas, Brown senior forward Brittany Raphino, and Georgia GR-5 midfielder Croix Bethune are earning All-America honors for the third time in their careers.

This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.

Stanford, preparing to make its 11th appearance in the College Cup, will continue its pursuit of a fourth national title when it meets No. 1 seed and sixth-ranked BYU on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a semifinal match from the 2023 NCAA Women's College Cup in Cary, N.C.
