STANFORD ADDED THREE to its track and field and cross-country class of '28, with each signing letters of intent to join five previous signees.
As announced by J.J. Clark, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field and Cross Country, Stanford signed distance runner James Dargan (Camberley, England/The Sixth Form College Farnborough), hurdler Aidan McFarlane (Coppell, Texas/Coppell HS), and sprinter Addie Pendergast (Dayton, Wyo./Sheridan HS).
They join Ashlyn Boothby (Scotts Valley, Calif./Scotts Valley HS), Josh Bell (Atascadero, Calif./Templeton HS), Paul Bergeron (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy), Byron Grevious (Southport, Conn./Phillips Exeter Academy), and Patrick Koon (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon HS).

James Dargan (Camberley, England/The Sixth Form College Farnborough)
Personal bests: 1,500 – 3:44.47; 3,000 – 8:04.53; 5,000 – 14:03.10.
- British under-20 5,000 champion.
- Fourth in the 5,000 at the 2023 European U20 Championships while running for Great Britain.
- English Schools 1,500 and 3,000 champion.
- Ran 14:03.10 in his 5,000 track debut, on April 28, 2023, in London.
- Ran 1,500 personal best of 3:44.47 while winning the BMC Gold Standard race in Birmingham, England, on June 7.

Personal bests: 110 hurdles – 14.26; 300 hurdles – 38.72.
- 110 hurdles runner-up at the 2023 Texas Meet of Champions.
- Third-fastest class of '24 110 hurdler at 2023 Nike Outdoor Nationals
- Ranked seventh in Texas 6A in the 110 and 300 hurdles.
- Fourth in Region 1-6A 110 hurdles final.
- Ran 300 hurdles best of 38.72 at 6A District 5-6 Area championship final.

Addie Pendergast (Dayton, Wyo./Sheridan HS)
Personal bests: 400 – 54.25; 200 – 23.58; 100 – 11.93; 300 hurdles – 44.13.
- Wyoming Gatorade Girls Track and Field Player of the Year in 2023
- Broke 33-year-old state 400 record, running 54.25.
- Nine-time state champion, winning 2023 4A titles in the 100, 200, and 400, and placing second in the 300 hurdles.
- Ranked No. 9 nationally in her class in the 400.
- Spent summer at study-abroad program in Copenhagen, Denmark, with an NGO focusing on climate science.
