Third Place Finish

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Stanford women's swimming and diving closed out the 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in third place in the team standings with 333 points – its tenth top three finish since 2008. The final day was led by Claire Curzan who picked up the NCAA title in the 200 back.
 
This is the second year straight the Cardinal has finished third, making it the only program in the country to have never finished outside of the top 10 at the national championships.
 
Freshman Curzan won her first ever NCAA title in the 200 back, setting a pool record at 1:47.64. She pulled ahead in the back half, finishing ahead of second place by more than 1.5 seconds.
 
Lucie Nordmann also swam the 200 back, placing eighth in the consolation final.
 
Torri Huske picked up her third individual medal, taking silver in the 100 free with a lifetime best time of 46.46.
 
Charlotte Hook earned her first All-American honor in the 200 fly, finishing sixth with a 1:53.17. Lillie Nordmann joined her in the final, placing first in the consolation final at 1:53.90.
 
The Cardinal capped off the 2023 NCAA Championship with a runner-up finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:08.54.
