STANFORD, Calif. – Following a standout freshman campaign, sophomore Malcolm Moore earned a spot on Perfect Game's Preseason All-America second team leading up to the 2024 season.
Moore, a consensus Freshman All-America selection a year ago, was named 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year while helping lead the Cardinal to a third consecutive College World Series appearance.
The native of Sacramento, Calif. started all 64 games as a freshman, including 55 at catcher and nine at designated hitter, while batting .311 with 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, 15 homers and 63 RBIs. The power-hitting backstop slugged .564 while compiling 23 multi-hit games and 17 multi-RBI contests. In Pac-12 play, Moore batted .282 with 19 runs scored, eight doubles, five homers and 25 RBIs.
Following his inaugural season on The Farm, Moore spent the summer of 2023 playing for the USA Collegiate National Team.
The Cardinal will begin the 2024 slate at home against Cal State Fullerton on February 16.
